This season hasn't been kind to the Ellicott Thunderhawks, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They were beaten by Florence 80-23 on Saturday. Ellicott was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.
Leading Florence to victory were Gage Goodall and Gunnar Phillips. Goodall scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Phillips dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals. Phillips hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaret Lozano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Ellicott dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Florence, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Ellicott will be playing at home against Rye at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to challenge Manitou Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
