After flying high against the Etowah Eagles last Friday, The Allatoona Buccaneers came back down to earth. Allatoona took a hard 35-17 fall against Sequoyah on Friday. Allatoona was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sequoyah apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Kolby Martin had an outrageously good game for Sequoyah as he threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. Bretton Darling also helped out with an impressive 103 receiving yards.
Allatoona's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sequoyah, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Allatoona will take on River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sequoyah, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodstock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodstock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Sequoyah is ranked 63rd).
