The Brush Arcs are taking a road trip to face off against the Lakeside Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brush has three straight wins, Lakeside has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Brush made easy work of Bedford and carried off a 24-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Arcs, who have now won five matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Raia Ross was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Zayshelle Frierson was another key player, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-5.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Brush lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lakeside fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Conneaut on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 20-19. Even though they lost, the Dragons' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Ellison Strubbe stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Olson, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Brush's record is now 8-5. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Lakeside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brush has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Brush's sizable advantage in that area, the Dragons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Brush might still be hurting after the 21-2 defeat they got from Lakeside in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Arcs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
