Even though the Lewis Cass Kings have not done well against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lewis Cass walked away with a 41-30 victory over Oak Hill. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lewis Cass.
Heta Kosunen was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aftin Griffin, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Lewis Cass pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Oak Hill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
Lewis Cass will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northfield at 7:45 p.m. Northfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Lewis Cass is ranked 85th). Oak Hill will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Blackford at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Blackford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
