Basketball Recap: Roy Bishop Jr Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

There's no place like home for Fremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Pittsburg Pirates 80-60 on Friday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 68-56 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Fremont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Roy Bishop Jr, who posted 17 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Bishop Jr is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Deyonte Spears, who earned 15 points and eight rebounds.

Pittsburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Wiley, who put up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jasaan Garcia, who posted 14 points.

The win got Fremont back to even at 2-2. As for Pittsburg, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fremont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-41 loss against Bellarmine College Prep on the 7th. As for Pittsburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 88-56 defeat against Liberty on the 10th.
