It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Paradise had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Village Tech Viper Squid get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Braden Wilson looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Andrew Valencia was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Logan Lampley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Paradise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Paradise is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Village Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
As of now, neither Paradise nor the Viper Squid have any future games scheduled.
