Flintridge Prep hasn't had much luck against Monrovia recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wolves will take on the Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. Flintridge Prep will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Flintridge Prep's win against Chadwick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Dolphins on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since April 24, 2024.
Will Grable made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Chase Liston tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Flintridge Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12 otherwise.

Grable wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Rolfe, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Rolfe a new career-high. Another was Casey Augenstein, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Flintridge Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monrovia unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of San Marino by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Titans since April 27, 2023.
Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Flintridge Prep, their record is now 7-13.
Flintridge Prep came up short against Monrovia when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
