The Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Parkview Christian Academy, falling 54-21. While losing is never fun, Illinois Math & Science Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Falcons are ranked 239th).
It was another big night for Gracie Lambes, who scored 13 points for Parkview Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa New, who scored ten points.
Illinois Math & Science Academy's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.5 points per game. As for Parkview Christian Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Illinois Math & Science Academy will take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkview Christian Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Conquerors at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
