Lafayette came out on top against Woodford County  on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Generals were the clear victors by  a  10-3 margin over the Yellowjackets. Considering the Generals have won eight matches by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Brynna Harris was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addison Combs, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Lafayette was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  games.
Lafayette is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Woodford County, they dropped their record down to 15-12-1 with the  loss, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette will face off against Paul Laurence Dunbar at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Woodford County, they will square off against Highlands at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
