Summit Academy (Bluffdale, Utah) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 28-0 victory over
Layton Christian Academy (Layton, Utah).
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Hayden Henriod in the second quarter, Summit Academy led 14-0 at the half.
Brodi Strong was the top performer for SA. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
The Bluffdale school had given up an average of 12.7 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Eagles ended with were well below their average of 16.6 coming into the game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Summit Academy, which was coming off a 14-0 defeat at the hands of Duchesne in its previous game.
Layton Christian Academy (3-6) will play a 1A - North game against Rich next week, while Summit Academy (5-3) will take on Diamond Ranch Academy in a non-conference game.
