The Verdugo Hills Dons will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Alemany Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Verdugo Hills beat Golden Valley 13-10.

Kaitlyn Barba was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Barba was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 3-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Brink, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emily Wagner, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Verdugo Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only posted a batting average of .259.
Meanwhile, Bishop Alemany put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against King/Drew as Bishop Alemany made off with a 15-1 win. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Verdugo Hills, Bishop Alemany also got a great game from a two-way player: Kalie Peralta. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Peralta was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Charlotte Riggen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Katelyn Ortiz was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bishop Alemany pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Verdugo Hills, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
