Softball Recap: Southside Wins Going Away Against Winn

Southside lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Winn, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Southside Cardinals were the clear victor by a 12-6 margin over the Winn Mavericks on Tuesday. Considering the Cardinals have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jadelynn Uriegas was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Valeria Sanchez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Southside and bumps their season record up to 11-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Winn, their record now sits at 3-12.

Looking ahead, Southside is taking a road trip to take on Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southside's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Southwest Legacy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Winn has already played their next game (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
