The Campo Verde Coyotes will venture away from home to challenge the Highland Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Campo Verde is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Campo Verde proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Desert Ridge 4-2. The four-run effort marked the Coyotes' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Ezekiel Zion made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zion was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
