It's playoff time, and South Adams had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Whitko Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Starfires, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Addie Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Shelby Weigel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Reagan Bollenbacher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.
