The West Texas Comanches''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 55-7 loss at the hands of Stratford. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Texas in their matchups with Stratford: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Stratford to victory were Josue Licon and Bryce Braden. Licon rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while Braden threw for 97 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Santiago Ibarra was in the mix as well, providing Stratford with two touchdowns.
West Texas' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Stratford, their victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
West Texas will face off against New Deal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Deal is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Stratford, they will square off against Sundown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sundown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 872nd, while Stratford is ranked 210th).
