Baseball Recap: Eastside's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Eastside dropped their record down to 5-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Blazers were not able to get on the board.

As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they moved to 6-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's part, Kyler Wood and Chip Bennett did most of the damage at the plate: Wood went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Bennett went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Bennett has posted since back in May of 2024. Max Warner was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Looking ahead, Eastside will head out on the road to take on Angola at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they will host Indy Genesis HomeSchool at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 3.8, the Indy Genesis 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
