Mount Notre Dame is a perfect 10-0 against St. Ursula Academy since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Mount Notre Dame is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Springboro just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-2.
McKenna Manley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Grace Pitzer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, St. Ursula Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.
O Basil was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on A Cosgray, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.
St. Ursula Academy's record now sits at 7-1. As for Mount Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Mount Notre Dame has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Ursula Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mount Notre Dame beat St. Ursula Academy 13-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Notre Dame since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
