White Pine is 0-4 against Elko since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. White Pine will host Elko at 2:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
White Pine's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against GV Christian as White Pine made off with a 19-0 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Maddox Sedlacek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last five contests. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, White Pine got a big performance out of Jackson Armstrong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Tucker Maestes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
White Pine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as GV Christian only posted an OBP of .100.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Elko and Spring Creek meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. Elko came out on top against Spring Creek by a score of 14-10. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly four runs.
The team relied heavily on Ethan Kraintz, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Elko: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Javi Robles, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Elko's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for White Pine, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
White Pine might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Elko in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can White Pine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
