Sagemont are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Berkmar Patriots. Sagemont ended the year with a bang, routing Berkmar 77-57. Sagemont might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sagemont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Thomas , who scored 21 points. The matchup was Thomas 's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Kee, who scored 19 points along with seven assists and three steals.
The win (which was Sagemont's third in a row) raised their record to 10-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.7 points per game. As for Berkmar, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2.
Sagemont will square off against Westminster Academy at TBD on January 6, 2024. Berkmar and Meadowcreek will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Meadowcreek is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
