The Cresset Christian Academy Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against Cape Fear Christian Academy, falling 79-37. Cresset Christian Academy has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Branson Green, who scored 17 points. Mario Jarett was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
It was another big night for Zeke Brock, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 assists for Cape Fear Christian Academy. Brock hasn't dropped below 17 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Dunkins, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cresset Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cresset Christian Academy will take on the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. New Garden Friends is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Trinity Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matchups.
