Lake Braddock had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the South County Stallions as the Lake Braddock Bruins made off with a 14-8 victory. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Stallions, too.
Jack Cavallario looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Dom Cuadros and Evan George did most of the damage at the plate: Cuadros went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while George went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Gibson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
South County is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Braddock will head out to take on Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South County, they will take on West Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
