Castleberry is 0-10 against Kennedale since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Castleberry's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Last Friday, Castleberry came up short against Ferris and fell 48-36. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Castleberry might have lost, but man, Isaiah Ford was a machine: he rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedale). They were the clear victors by a 48-22 margin over Dunbar last Friday. The victory continues a trend for Kennedale in their matchups with Dunbar: they've now won nine in a row.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Riley Bingham and Kamron Lloyd. Bingham had a great game and gained 228 total yards and five touchdowns. Meanwhile, Lloyd did his best for the losing side, rushing for 125 yards.
Kennedale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trey Smith, Bingham, Zarrian Carliss, and Kyle Mayes picked up one apiece. Wesley Reeves was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Kennedale's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Castleberry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Castleberry has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 261.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kennedale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 168.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Castleberry took a serious blow against Kennedale in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 44-7. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
