Baseball Recap: Southern Has No Trouble Against Mountain Ridge

Southern won the last time they faced Mountain Ridge and things went their way on Monday too. Southern was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Mountain Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rams have posted against the Miners since May 9, 2019.

Southern got a massive performance out of Jared Haskiel, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Haskiel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Upole, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Southern now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mountain Ridge, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Southern will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Allegany at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will take on Berkeley Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain Ridge is facing Berkeley Springs at the right time seeing as Berkeley Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
