Platte Valley (Kersey, Colo.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 15 points, drop to nine before the final whistle blew on a 28-19 victory over
Faith Christian (Arvada, Colo.).
After taking the lead on a
Logan Sitzman touchdown run in the first quarter, the Broncos were up 14-6 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at eight at the start of the fourth.
The loss snapped Faith Christian's eight-game winning streak.
The defeat comes as a step back for Faith Christian, who notched a 24-14 victory over Brush in its previous outing.
