Jason Hurtado Delivers Best Performance of Season
Douglas was led to victory by Jason Hurtado, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Hurtado rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103.1). Those 200 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Hurtado must have Rio Rico's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Hurtado rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Hawks duked it out back in October of 2023.

Amphitheater Gets a Boost from Espinoza in 42-15 Victory
Jacob Espinoza put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.
For the season, Espinoza has averaged 23.2 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 42.67 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 65.17 rushing yards.

Isaac Williams' Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Isaac Williams produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Amphitheater to the win on Friday. Williams rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
For the year, Williams has run in those 2 touchdowns while averaging 25.6 rushing yards per game.

Mananne Abakar Turns in Season-Best Performance
Rincon/University came up short on Friday despite Mananne Abakar delivering his best game to date. Abakar picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards.
Rincon/University's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. Abakar and Rincon/University will square off against Sahuarita at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
