Brentwood's batters probably weren't too happy with Carter Wilson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up two walks). Wilson has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rj Fisher was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Corfield, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Western Beaver made easy work of Winchester Thurston on Wednesday and carried off an 8-0 win. Considering the Golden Beavers have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian Stefankis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Sawyer Chaffee was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Vincent Ross, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Western Beaver pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for South Side, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5-1.
South Side took their win against Western Beaver in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Golden Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
