East and General McLane are both heading into their Friday matchup this week after winning their previous games. General McLane was able to grind out a solid victory over Conneaut Area last week, winning 35 - 21. Meanwhile, East didn't have too much trouble with Youngsville in last week's game, where East won 24 - 9.
After a disappointing zero points in the game before, General McLane made sure to put some points up on the board against Conneaut Area. Senior quarterback Ethan Laird really separated himself from the pack -- literally. He rushed for 196 yards to give General McLane a significant boost. The win bumped General McLane's record up to 4-2.
As for East, it got an early lead and maintained it, starting each quarter with an advantage. Senior wide receiver Jameel Gibbs was especially active in the win, finding the endzone a remarkable three times. The victory got East up to 1-5.
While both teams are coming off of wins, only one will triumph this week. We'll find out soon enough who that will be.
