Kadence Meyers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Meyers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ayanna O'Kimosh was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Addison Gusick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Shawano Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Xavier got the win against St. Mary Catholic on Friday by a conclusive 7-1.
Morgan Staszak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elsa Dvoracek, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Hervey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
The victory got Xavier back to even at 6-6. As for Shawano Community, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
