Rogers hasn't had much luck against Start recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will welcome the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Rogers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Rogers came out on top against Scott on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 19-4 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Da'Marion Allen-Gabriel, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.5 stolen bases per game. Olice Frison II was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Start had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 7-2. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly five runs.
Braden Bowman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Bryce Creecy was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Start: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lucas Buck, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Rogers picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Start, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rogers has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .509. However, it's not like Start struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rogers might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Start in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
