While losing is never fun, KIPP King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 976th, while Lowell is ranked 382nd).
KIPP King lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being David Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Rogers' third in a row with at least ten points. Ja'mauri Woodfolk was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
KIPP King's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lowell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
KIPP King will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Redwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Lowell and Balboa will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Balboa is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
