The David Posnack Jewish Day Rams suffered their biggest defeat since November 20, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-22 loss at the hands of Pine Crest. David Posnack Jewish Day was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Despite the defeat, David Posnack Jewish Day saw an underclassman step up: Emma Azafrani scored seven points along with two steals.
Pine Crest found their leader in underclassman Isabella M sangha, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which M sangha has scored at least a third of Pine Crest's points. Another player making a difference was Franky Garfi, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
David Posnack Jewish Day now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pine Crest, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. David Posnack Jewish Day will take on Donna Klein Jewish Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Donna Klein Jewish Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Pine Crest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Saint Andrew's at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Saint Andrew's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Monday.
