The Troy-Buchanan Trojans will challenge the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Troy-Buchanan barely beat Fort Zumwalt South the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
James Kline and Gavin May dominated on the mound. Kline struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits, while May pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave Kline a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Mayhall, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Stuckey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Troy-Buchanan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, St. Louis HomeSchool P entered their tilt with East Alton-Wood River on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Oilers with a sharp 12-2 win. The Patriots not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2nd (when they won 13-3).
St. Louis HomeSchool P got a massive performance out of Will Schark, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Vinny Tornatore, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Troy-Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 12-21. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, their win bumped their record up to 24-16.
Troy-Buchanan was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Louis HomeSchool P in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
