The Lamar Silver Foxes lost against the Latta Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lamar fell 44-37 to Latta. Lamar has struggled against Latta recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Latta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shawniza Bethea, who scored 19 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bethea has scored at least a third of Latta's points. Kardae Mcfadden was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lamar has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Latta, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Lake View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Latta, they will be playing at home against Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Sea Floyds is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
