Liberty's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Carson Garrick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Liberty is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Garrick was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. What's more, he posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Bledsoe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Liberty's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Carroll, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brashier Middle College Charter only posted an OBP of .154.
Meanwhile, West-Oak can bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They blew past Liberty 13-3. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for West-Oak, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Liberty might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from West-Oak in their previous meeting on Monday. Will the Red Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
