Farrell extended their postseason success on Friday against Richland. They took down the Rams 32-14. Winning may never get old, but the Steelers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Juelz Johnson produced another solid effort rushing for 199 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was AAron Pegues, who rushed for 64 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Farrell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Farrell's defense and their four sacks. Rhashaud Dunbar refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Farrell got some further help from Dunbar: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Farrell's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Richland, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Looking ahead, Farrell will face off against Seton LaSalle at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Steelers 9.6, the Rebels 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
