Green Valley proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Pahrump Valley 7-5.
Jeremiah Smith looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Joseph Lusch and Maddix Kaye did most of the damage at the plate: Lusch went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Kaye went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Kaye a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jet McNelis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Foothill never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bonanza on Tuesday. They blew past the Bengals 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Giulliano Pugliese was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Quinthus Mason also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonanza only managed four.
Green Valley's record is now 12-4. As for Foothill, their record now sits at 12-5.
Green Valley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2024 against Foothill by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Gators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
