The Georgetown Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 63-18 defeat at the hands of Kingstree. While losing is never fun, Georgetown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Kingstree is ranked 125th).
It was another big night for MAKAYLA DUKES, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 steals for Kingstree. DUKES is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was DEMIA MOSLEY, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Kingstree, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Georgetown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Waccamaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Kingstree won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Manning at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Manning is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
