The Fairless Falcons lost against the Canton South Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fairless fell just short of Canton South by a score of 42-40. Fairless has not had much luck with Canton South recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Canton South was led to victory by Doriana Hastings-Peterson and Summer Hastings-Peterson. Hastings-Peterson dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Hastings-Peterson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Hastings-Peterson has scored at least 25% of Canton South's points. Sydney Comer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Fairless bumped their record down to 5-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Canton South, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairless will face off against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canton South, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
