Calhoun has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 7:00 p.m.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Calhoun had to settle for a 39-36 loss against Braxton County.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant escaped with a win on Tuesday against Scott by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. The victory was all the more spectacular given Point Pleasant's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Scott is ranked 24th).
Point Pleasant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katelynn Martin, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Martin scored 15 or more points. McKenna Young was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Calhoun's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Point Pleasant, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.
