The Eisenhower Tigers will take on the Heights Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eisenhower has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Eisenhower pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Goddard by a score of 58-55. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Goddard is ranked 48th).
Eisenhower's defeat came about despite a quality game from Pierce Blue, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blue has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Larsen Schneider, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks.
Even though they lost, Eisenhower were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Heights put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over Kapaun Mt. Carmel. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Heights' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chase Robinson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. T.J. Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Eisenhower now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Heights, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Eisenhower was dealt a bruising 61-22 defeat at the hands of Heights in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eisenhower was down 35-8.
