Basketball Recap: Boron's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Boron, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 44-32 victory over the Mammoth Huskies on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Boron's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Moses Garcia led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josue Magallanes, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Boron smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Boron's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Mammoth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Boron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-23 defeat against Rosamond on the 10th. As for Mammoth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-23 win against Coleville on the 8th.
