The Skaneateles Lakers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Solvay 59-22 at home. Skaneateles has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Even though they lost, Solvay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
The win was the third in a row for Skaneateles, bringing their record for this year to 7-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-16 Solvay and 1-8 Solvay (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.5% over those games). As for Solvay, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Skaneateles will head out on the road to square off against Marcellus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skaneateles has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Solvay, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Jordan-Elbridge at 5:30 p.m. Solvay is coming into the game with six straight losses at home, meaning Jordan-Elbridge will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
