After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington, the Hatton Hornets were happy to have found some success on Monday. They managed a 55-51 win over Lawrence County. That's another feather in the cap for Hatton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Lawrence County had strong showings from Ava Templeton, who scored 15 points along with six steals, and Jaala Hawkins, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Hatton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Lawrence County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Hatton will be home for the holidays to greet East Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lawrence County, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
