Centennial moved up to 310 from 336 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 8A District 8. The Eagles were able to make move up by losing to Vero Beach 24-14.
Centennial made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,855 from 6,451. The advance stemmed from a 24-14 victory over the Eagles last week.
The Indians' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dalton Stokes threw for 214 and two touchdowns and Jimmy Williamson had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Jason Pierre chipped in 72 yards. Jamario Lambert helped Vero Beach's passing attack out by catching one ball for 57 yards.
Vero Beach's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Stokes has thrown for 1562 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Will Dawkins has 22 catches for 416 yards. Pierre leads the league in rushing with 359 yards.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of Vero Beach's Stokes. Lenny Jankowski's team topped Centennial when he connected with Lambert on a 57-yard pass.
