After a disappointing 0 points in the matchup before, Avoyelles made sure to put some points up on the board against Northside on Friday. Avoyelles were fully in charge, breezing past Northside 66-26. That result was just more of the same for Avoyelles, who also won the last time these teams played.
Avoyelles got off to a slow start in their last-week contest, but they had no such trouble against Northside and cruised to a 36-point first half. Northside wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 20 to make it 36-20 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for Avoyelles in the second half, holding Northside to a measly 6 points. The victory bumped Avoyelles' record up to 2-3. The loss dropped Northside's record to 1-4.
Avoyelles will stay at home next week against Jena at 7:00 PM. Jena took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Avoyelles's good fortune. Northside will take on Carencro at home at 6:00 PM. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
