The Foothill Falcons's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 68-53 victory over Mater Academy East Las Vegas.
It was another big night for Zak Abdalla, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Foothill's points. Corbin Putnam was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Foothill back to even at 4-4. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Foothill and Orem will face off at 10:30 a.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Orem is ranked 34th in Utah, while Foothill is ranked 21st in Nevada). Mater Academy East Las Vegas will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
