Lakeland has gone a perfect 7-0 against Peekskill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeland has eight straight victories, Peekskill has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Sleepy Hollow wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lakeland, they should've done a better job of containing Kelly Mallon. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Horsemen on Tuesday for which the team can thank Mallon, who had 20 digs and 17 kills. Mallon is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Lakeland not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sleepy Hollow between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.
Lakeland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sofia Cruz led the charge by getting 12 kills, five digs, and two aces. Lynae Petrosino was another key player, getting 27 assists and four digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Lakeland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Peekskill came up short against Hamilton on Friday, falling 3-0.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Hamilton scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.
Peekskill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Lakeland, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
Everything went Lakeland's way against Peekskill when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as Lakeland made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
