Jake Bruns and Alex Pistorius provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lutheran South Academy. The connection was good for 99 yards, the longest such play in TAPPS Division II District 4 this season.
Westbury Christian fell to Northland Christian 38-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Pioneers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trent Franson threw for 305 and 3 touchdowns and Jordan Barton had 177 yards receiving. On the ground Darius Garcia chipped in 91 yards. Kyle Hutchins helped Lutheran South Academy's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 54 yards.
Zack Richards made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fort Bend Christian Academy topped Lutheran South Academy. The 6-foot-0 junior.
He was 23-35 with 2 interceptions.
Barton was the best wideout in the league this week as Stephen Robbins' team lost to the Eagles. Barton racked up 12 receptions for 177 yards. Hutchins helped Lutheran South Academy's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 54 yards.
The Pioneers' Franson and Barton have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Franson has thrown for 558 yards this season, while Barton has 28 catches for 377 yards. Pope John XXIII's Greg Moore leads the league in rushing yards with 463.
At the moment, the Lions are in second, while Second Baptist is in fourth.
Fort Bend Christian Academy and Lutheran South Academy played the most contested game in TAPPS Division II District 4 this week, with Fort Bend Christian Academy eventually emerging with a 27-24 victory. Bruns threw for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 63 yards in the win.
