Baseball Recap: Eldon's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Eldon won the last time they faced Waynesville and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 6-1 win over the Tigers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Devin Hardy made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Lincoln Salsman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and one run.

Eldon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Eldon's record now sits at 12-9. As for Waynesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Eldon will square off against Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Waynesville, they will take on St. James at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
