Basketball Recap: Severance Drops Season-High Score on Thompson Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Severance). They strolled past the Thompson Valley Eagles with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-49. The Silver Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Severance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damarii Wright, who went 8 of 13 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christian Powell, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.

Thompson Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Rj Hale and Ethan Barker. Hale posted 19 points, while Barker had eight points. Those eight points gave Barker a new career-high.

Severance now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Thompson Valley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

Severance will welcome Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Severance is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Thompson Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-66 loss against Loveland on the 11th.
